You get a glimpse of this curious structure from the A9 near Evanton and there's a great walk right up to it, with amazing views over the Cromarty Firth. The stone monument was built around 1782 by Sir Hector Munro, the owner of Novar Estate, and is a tribute to the Indian port of Nagapattinum, which Sir Hector earlier seized for the British Army.
