Pottery & Printmaking

Pottery & Printmaking

This exciting new evening course will develop your pottery and create beautiful art for your home.

Combining two of Angus’s favourite things, this six-week course is designed to be accessible to all. No prior experience of pottery or printmaking is necessary.

What you will learn

Angus will show you how to use cutting tools to create linocut and etching prints of your own. Using a choice of colourful inks, you will produce your own prints.

Your etching design will also be turned into decals, for applying to two ceramic stacking mugs.

Finally, you will get a chance to try sgraffito on a clay pot – a simple yet effective technique involving scratching off a coloured surface layer to create a decorative pattern revealed in the contrasting layer beneath.

All tools will provided, along with source imagery (though you are welcome to bring your images to work from).

During the course, you will produce lino prints, etchings, two stacking mugs and a sgraffito pot to take home after firing. Any additional items to be fired will be charged at £10 per piece to cover firing costs.

This course will run on Thursday evenings from 7-9pm, starting on February 8. The last date is March 14.
